Evening was for reflection and patchwork. He tended to bruises and old scars, oiling leather and running a whetstone along his blade’s edge until it whispered. He wrote in shorthand into a little slate ledger — times, errors, the single adjustment that had mattered most. For Day 14 it read: "Adjust wrist angle on inward arc — anticipate layered feint." He circled it once.
