Save games are not universally compatible. A save file created on will usually crash v 1.01 upon loading. This is because the save structure changed slightly regarding mission flags and vehicle data. Conversely, a v 1.01 save game is often more stable on modern (Windows 10/11) systems but harder to edit with old save editors (like the famous GTA SA Savegame Editor ).
