I’ve organized them by topic (best for B2, as thematic learning is proven more effective than random lists).

1. Abstract & Opinion Words (Essential for Essays)

Significant – important or noticeable. Consequently – as a result. Despite / In spite of – without being affected by. Furthermore – in addition (more formal than "also"). Nevertheless – however; despite that. From my perspective – in my opinion. Justify – give a valid reason for something. Evaluate – judge the value or importance of something.

2. Work & Education

Qualification – a skill or certificate needed for a job. Apply for (a job) – formally request to be considered for a position. Resign – voluntarily leave a job. Get fired – lose a job because of poor performance. Career path – the progression of jobs in a field. Assignment – a task or piece of work given to someone. Deadline – the time by which something must be finished. Tuition fees – money paid for education.

3. Travel & Transport

Commute – travel regularly between home and work. Delay – late arrival or departure. Cancel – decide that an event will not happen. Accommodation – a place to stay (hotel, hostel, Airbnb). Itinerary – a planned route or schedule of a trip. Scenery – natural landscape features. Check in / Check out – register arrival/departure at a hotel or airport. 4. Emotions & Personality (B2 nuance)

Annoyed – slightly angry. Embarrassed – self-conscious or ashamed in front of others. Relieved – happy that something bad didn’t happen or is over. Anxious – worried or nervous. Disappointed – sad because something was not as good as expected. Affectionate – showing liking or love. Reliable – can be trusted to do something well. Sensitive – easily affected by others’ feelings or criticism.

5. Technology & Media

Access – the right or ability to enter or use. Download / Upload – receive/send data via internet. Subscribe – pay regularly to receive something (YouTube, Netflix). Stream – watch or listen online without downloading. Screen – display of a phone/computer/TV. Device – an electronic tool (tablet, smartphone, laptop). Social media platform – Instagram, TikTok, X, etc. Go viral – become very popular quickly online.
