D2SE is a created by Snej . It was designed to solve the biggest problem of classic Diablo 2: version conflicts. Before D2SE, if you wanted to play Median XL , you had to overwrite your vanilla game files. Want to switch to Eastern Sun ? Overwrite again. This often broke installations.
