The gameplay of Metro Exodus remains largely unchanged in the Enhanced Edition. Players control Artyom, the protagonist, as he explores the post-apocalyptic world, completes quests, and battles against mutants, raiders, and other hostile factions. The game's story takes place several years after the events of Metro: Last Light, where Artyom and his companions embark on a journey to find a new home for the survivors of the Moscow Metro.
