Originally created as a proof-of-concept "Free Edition," the tool provided a foundation for the open-source community to access LS1 PCMs without expensive commercial software.
Without these tools, the LS1 is restricted to conservative factory parameters designed for emissions standards and average fuel quality. With them, the engine can be optimized for aftermarket camshafts, turbochargers, or simply better throttle response. Evolution from Proprietary to Open Source
