Despite mixed reviews (34% on Rotten Tomatoes), the film is a technical marvel. The sound design of the alien weapons, the CGI of the alien ships, and the infamous “battleship drifting” scene (where the USS Missouri turns sideways to fire all its cannons) demand a high-bitrate video and surround sound. Watching it in 480p on a small screen is borderline sacrilege for action fans.
